[edit] Monarch = Captain Atom?

Where has the storyline established that the "sinister" Monarch seen handling the Forerunner is, in fact, Captain Atom? (In fact, didn't Countdown #43 show a flesh-colored face under the mask, not the Silver Shield-encased face of Captain Atom?) --Joe Sewell 16:55, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

This is a good point, but the only current character to wear the armor is Nathaniel Adam.--Marhawkman 16:24, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
But the Nathaniel Adam who wore/wears the Monarch armor is NOT Captain Atom. According to that revision of Monarchs history Nathaniel Adam was removed from the alternate dimension which he had entered and an identical copy was put in his place. That copy went on to become Captain Atom while Nathaniel Adam went on to become Monarch. So unless there's been a further retcon the Nathaniel Adam who is Monarch was never Captain Atom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.221.152 (talk) 12:36, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Battle of Bludhaven - Captain Atom is found held captive by the Atomic Knights. He is placed in a new suit of armor to contain his growing radiation levels. He assumes the identity of Monarch and destroys Bludhaven. He later appears in the Power of Ion #12, without his helmet on showing the character to be Captain Atom, talking about his current actions in the Red and his efforts against of the Monitors. Didio has also stated the Monarch/Atom relationship in several interviews, for whatever good he is as a source. In short, Extreme Justice does appear to have been brushed aside and Captain Atom is Monarch. 66.109.248.114 20:17, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My Honor!

God, I wish that we could put something in this article about how utterly horrible this character is. (Don't worry, I won't.) Universaladdress 14:53, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wow... Some writers need to grow some creativity...

Stole the name from Halo, Forerunners and Moniters what the hell, was that guy playing Halo for the whole time? And the character is just another carbon copy with the "basic" powers. That is sad and pathetic. Really pathetic. Jin Won 15:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

  • "basic"? we don't really know yet.--Marhawkman 17:53, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
  • I read the page on the Forerunners in Halo. They have absolutely NOTHING to do with this character.--Marhawkman 15:04, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
This page is for discussion on how to improve the article, not criticism of the character's name or origin. --Basique 10:19, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

The Monitor, off of which these ones are based predates Halo by 15 years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.221.152 (talk) 12:39, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Martian DNA

According to the Forerunner to Adventure interview, Forerunner's abilities are due to Martian DNA. --Basique 10:17, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

I didn't see the word Martian used anywhere in that interview.--Marhawkman 23:31, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
That's probably because you did not read the preview pages that were included with the interview. --Basique 15:24, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
Um... it says they have a camoflage ability derived from A Martian Gene, but their other abilities are not explained. The street sign makes me wonder if they might be their universe's Terrans.--Marhawkman 21:42, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
As we now know from Countdown to Adventure the Forerunners are NOT Terrans but are native to an alternate Earth. They are descendants of the survivors of a series of interplanetary wars and so posses DNA from multiple races of the solar system. The only ones I recognize from the main DCU are the Martians (indeed one is identified as J'onn J'onnz) and the Saturnians.

[edit] world

Is her world Earth 48 or Earth 34? I've seen it mentioned both ways.--Marhawkman 16:05, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
