[edit] Details on the border demarcation with Sudan

  • Talks resolved end of 2007. 1600 sqkm between the Atbara and the Abay Rivers ceded by Ethiopia. Ethiopian National Congress condemned this.[1]
  • PM Meles Zenawi told the Ethiopian parliament that no Ethiopian farmers had been displaced by this demarcation, which concerned the border from Daglash to the Tekeze River.[2]
  • The governor of the Benshangul Gumuz Region, Yaregal Aysheshim, accused opposition groups of spreading rumors about lost territory due to the demarcation in order to disrupt harmonious relations between the two nations.[3] -- llywrch (talk) 05:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
