Talk:Foreign relations of Chile
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is very good. I would like you to write a more detailed article on Chile's involvement in international business.

The treaty, known as the "agreement between the Argentine and Chilean republics to set the boundary from Mount Fitzroy to Daudet Hill" establishes a border in the disputed icefields. [1]
Please provide official URL about this or we will need to remove the line. thks Jor70 11:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
The boundary at the Southern Icefield is indeed officially undefined. All Chilean tourist maps have to be approved by the Dirección Nacional de Fronteras y Límites del Estado (State Comission of Boundaries), therefore the international boundaries in those maps are indeed oficial. The full treaty agreeing to leave the boundary undefined is available [2] (in Spanish) from the Dirección Nacional de Fronteras y Límites del Estado's site. Their wbeiste also includes an OFFICIAL map of the disputed area [3]. I am aware Argentina does not mark the disputed area in their maps, and there was a recent uproar in Chile over an official Argentinean map which showed the disputed area as theirs [4], basically in violation of the 1998 treaty. 200.119.236.81 23:47, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] US? Venezuela? Pacific?
Nothing yet on Chile's relations with the United States, I see... This is a pity, and it surprises me. Has Bachelet put any nuance on Chile's traditionally sycophantic relationship to Washington? What has been the Chilean response to Chávez and the other new leftist leaders in Latin America? What about Chilean ties with China and other Pacific Rim countries? Everything began in 1990?
