[edit] Justifiability of proposed speedy delete

Hello. My page (a work in progress to be sure) is up for speedy deletion, but I am trying to create a page about Fordham University Graduate School of Business. So far there is no promoting or advertising going on, and I would like to know why it was marked. I have two paragraphs and already have three legitimate reference. Everything was fine until I put in a subheading of "Statistics and Ranking" that would highlight the school's standing in national publications (with references). But since this potential deletion, I am going to stop working on the page until I hear more. Please let me know if I can continue to work on this page to create a legitimate and fact-based page on the school. If you still feel that this is infringement on Wiki's rules, please let me know why.

  • I want to echo the article's creator in his bewilderment as to why this article was tagged for speedy deletion. First of all, there is clear consensus that colleges and universities are inherently notable, regardless of content. This article made clear claims of notability and provided appropriate sources as it existed when the speedy tag was applied 14 minutes after its creation. While I admire the zeal with which some new page patrollers seek to stamp out problem articles, this does not make every single article that whizzes by a cockroach that needs to be stamped on, and not the clearly obvious article-in-formation that this article is. There is something wrong here and it needs to be stopped. Alansohn (talk) 21:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
