Talk:Forcey Christian Middle School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For a May 2005 deletion debate over this page see Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Forcey Christian Middle School
There is no reason to consider the school's mission statement boosterism, anymore than the inclusion of established missions in articles like World Bank would be considered boosterism. Christopher Parham 21:39, 2005 May 17 (UTC)
- The sentence "its mission is to help middle school students become more fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ" does not belong in the article. This is amply covered in the "private school located in Silver Spring, Maryland...that provides Christian education" part. Neutralitytalk 21:54, May 17, 2005 (UTC)
- If anything, the school's explicitly stated mission statement is more relevant than the fact that it provides an unspecified "Christian" eduction, because it is more specific. In addition, what it DOES (provide Christian education) is different from what its mission is. Certainly, schools with Christian education could have substantially different missions. Finally, since there is clearly no pressing concern with length, deleting as redundant information that is not obviously so does not help the cause of the page at all. Practically every article on Wikipedia covering a designed institution has cause to include a statement of the institution's original mission. I will reinsert, for now. Keep IT: I have seen worse articles and I believe this should stay so others will have a idea about it if they ever here about it.
[edit] Correcting the school template
Can anybody fix that template on the page so it isn't messed up? The principal is Ezekiel Wharton, the faculty is already listed, I don't know what the free label would be, the location is Silver Spring, Maryland. Thanks Nicholasink 04:04, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
This article is a little strange in its layout, considering it has a very interesting (but disorganized) chronology and doesn't have many links to other Wikipedia articles. With a little attention (I'll see what I can do), I think it will be much better. Nicholasink 02:21, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
The faculty list should be removed. That is not worthy of a section in Wikipedia. It's been removed from many other schools in the past for the same reason. EagleFan 18:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Fcmslogo.gif
Image:Fcmslogo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:41, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
