de:Jost Amman (1539-1591): Eygentliche Beschreibung aller Stände auff Erden hoher und nidriger, geistlicher und weltlicher, aller Künsten, Handwerken und Händeln ... (erstmals Frankfurt am Main 1568; auch bekannt als: Das Ständebuch)

Im Buch wird das Bild von folgendem Text von de:Hans Sachs begleitet:

Ich bin ein Formenschneider gut,
Als was man mir für reissen thut,
Mit der federn auff ein form bret
Das schneid ich denn mit meim geret,
Wenn mans denn druckt so sind sich scharff
Die Bildnuß, wie sie der entwarff,
Die steht, denn druckt auff dem papyr,
Künstlich denn auß zustreichen schier.

(Anmerkung: für reissen thut = vorzeichnet, geret = Gerät, hier: Schnitmesser, künstlich auß zustreichen = kunstvoll auszumalen)
