[edit] Concept & Style

Fortune Teller manifests a more mature Ira Losco.[3][4] Throughout the lyrics, Fortune Teller is more political and deep than her previous albums. The album was written with live performances in mind and is danceable and pumping.[5] Ira Losco's album is more of alternative style. Fortune Teller features "adamant views about everything and a raspy, leathery tone to her voice. Electric guitars and punchy synthesizers are prominent."[6]

Ira Losco stated that "there's a bit of reading-between-the-lines but than there is stuff that's right there in your face".[7]

[edit] Release

The release of Fortune Teller on 11th June in Malta will be marked during a mega-concert on the 14th of June 2008. When interviewed by maltastar.com, Ira Losco stated that she is seeking to hit international markets. "We are trying to reach foreign markets through our new album. It’s a big challenge, especially to hit the UK and the US markets, which are the most aggressive and hard to reach."[8]

[edit] Songs and Single Releases

The album contains fourteen "high energy" tracks, some of them being more acoustic.[9]

In September 2007, the first single from this album was released, called Something To Talk About[10]. The song was a hit in Malta, topping the local radio airplay charts[11]. An awesome performance was given by Ira Losco at the Isle Of Mtv 2007 (Malta) later that year amongst other singers like Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5 and Akon[12]. The second single, Don't Look Down was released in December 2007. Both songs received positive reviews and became a fast favourite with the local radio audience[13]. Also, in December 2007, some tracks from the upcoming album were revealed on the "Living It..." DVD[14], three of which were Don't Look Down, Idle Motion and Shoulder Of A Giant.

In January 2008, a music video was released for the single 'Don't Look Down and is now available for download on her official and 89.7 bay's website [15]. The video received a mixed reception, as it is a mixture of various clips from several performances[16].

In March 2008, a single off Fortune Teller was released on all local radios. Idle Motion like the previous songs, topped the local radio airplay charts and can be played on Ira Losco's Official Myspace. The Making Of... of this single was aired on a local TV show.[17]

The fourth single, Promises was released on local radio stations on 21 May, 2008.
