Fort McKavett, Texas

Fort McKavett is an unincorporated community in Menard County, Texas, United States. It lies at the intersections of Roads 864 and 1674 a short distance south of U.S. Route 190, southwest of the city of Menard, the county seat of Menard County.[1] Its elevation is 2,169 feet (661 m), and it is located at 30°49′38″N, 100°6′24″W (30.8271192, -100.1067471).[2] Although it is unincorporated, it has a post office, with the ZIP code of 76841.[3]

It is the birthplace of noted American mycologist Harry D. Thiers.[4]
