Fort Herriman Middle School is a Public School located in Herriman, UT. The school holds approximately 900 students grades 7-9. With their mascot being the Diamondback Rattle Snake and the school colors being Black, Copper and Teal. Finished in the summer of 2005 [1] , the 189,651 square foot school cost $20,279,000.[2] The school was built by MHTN Architects and is part of the Jordan School District.

Fort Herriman currently has a principal and two vice-principals.[3]

[edit] PTA Award

On February 14, 2007 the school was presented with a PTA Award. The PTA awarded 16 schools across the nation for the "PTA Take Your Family to School Week". The PTA awarded the school with $1,897, to honor the founding and birthday of the PTA in 1897. [4] The school is using the money towards an electronic message board. [5]

[edit] Kindergarten Students

The first year FHMS was up and running, kindergarteners that would originally have been sent to Herriman Elementary, were located in the middle school. They had a specific area closed off for the kindergarteners. Since then, they have been sent back to Herriman Elementary.[6][7]
