Fort Frances Water Aerodrome, (TC LID: CJM8), is located 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) northeast of Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada.
The airport is classified as an airport of entry by NAV CANADA and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency. CBSA officers at this airport currently can handle general aviation aircraft only, with no more than 15 passengers.[1]
The place mentioned quaintly as "Fort Frances Water Aerodrome" is in actuality a private float plane service under the trade name of Rusty Myers Flying Service. Another inaccuracy is that the Canadian Border Services have personnel stationed at the airbase. This is untrue since checking in by air requires a call to Border Services and tying your craft up at the Dock at the end of 3rd St. East at Colonization Rd. East across from Rainy Lake Bait and Tackle. The persons entering the country then wait for the Border Services to arrive by car to service them. A large Canadian flag has been painted on the correct dock to guide aircraft to the correct set of docks.
