Formalized Music

Formalized Music: Thought and Mathematics in Music (published in 1992 by Pendragon Press) is a book written by Greek composer, architect, and mathematician Iannis Xenakis. In it, he explains his motivation, philosophy, and technique for composing music with mathematics. It is considered a ground breaking work in Post World War II music.
