Forever Young is a song from 1986, written by Dean and Carol Parks, and performed by the latter. It is heard in the final six minutes of the 1986 animated film The Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation, whose soundtrack it was written for.
The song's accompanying sequence in the film begins with a long shot of the front of the castle with a rainbow formed over the Kingdom of Caring. Then, a Care Bear, with the Star and Heart Buddies, can be seen riding a boat with Brave Heart Lion near the Kingdom's multi-coloured fountain.
Going around the fountain, flashbacks of the Care Bear Family's childhood can be seen as follows:
- Red: Love-A-Lot watches Lotsa Heart Elephant lift Cheer Bear up a swing.
- Orange: Secret Bear, Brave Heart Lion are sheltering from a shower when Proud Heart Cat climbs up the tree they are on.
- Yellow: Birthday Bear is enjoying a cake while Funshine Bear relaxes in the sunshine, smiling to herself, and looking up to a Star Buddy.
- Green: Good Luck Bear is playing hopscotch, and Wish Bear and Gentle Heart Lamb cheer in his victory.
- Blue: Bedtime Bear simply goes to bed, blowing out a candle on his cabinet as he is about to do so.
- Purple: Harmony Bear, Bright Heart Raccoon, Share Bear and Cozy Heart Penguin are riding on seesaws.
As soon as the camera leaves the pink side of the fountain, Harmony and Brave Heart can be seen riding off on their boat, before the first words of A New Generation's credits, "THE END", are shown in white against a pink backdrop.
