Forest Oak Middle School is a public middle school located in Gaithersburg in Montgomery County, Maryland. The school opened in 1995 at 8100 Midcounty Highway in Gaithersburg, Maryland. In 1999, Forest Oak moved to its current location and the old location became known as Shady Grove Middle School.

Forest Oak Middle School is part of the Gaithersburg High School cluster along with Gaithersburg Middle School and currently services students from Goshen Elementary, Rosewood Elementary, Washington Grove Elementary, and Flower Hill Elementary Schools
