Fordland is a city in Webster County, Missouri, United States. The population was 684 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Springfield, Missouri Metropolitan Statistical Area.
From 1993-2000 the town newspaper was called The Fordland Times and was owned by the Inman family of the area. They sold the paper to the Rogersville News Review, thus ending the era of newspaper ownership in Fordland.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 684 people, 287 households, and 196 families residing in the city. The population density was 771.9 people per square mile (296.7/km²). There were 326 housing units at an average density of 367.9/sq mi (141.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 96.78% White, 0.29% Native American, 0.15% Asian, and 2.78% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.61% of the population.
There were 287 households out of which 32.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% were non-families. 27.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.87.
In the city the population was spread out with 25.6% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 15.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 91.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $31,042, and the median income for a family was $33,472. Males had a median income of $26,447 versus $22,059 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,676. About 4.8% of families and 11.4% of the population were below the poverty line, including 17.4% of those under age 18 and 9.2% of those age 65 or over.
