The Ford Amphitheatre is the first outdoor concert facility in the Tampa Bay Area. The Ford Amphitheatre's capacity is around 20,000.

Rush was the first concert event to go on-sale for the amphitheater in 2004, attracting nearly 15,000 people.[citation needed] Other bands to play the amphitheater during opening week were Chicago and Dave Matthews Band.[citation needed]
