[edit] Set details
The set contains 60 cards, including 6 Secret Rares, 4 Ultra Rares, 7 Super Rares, 14 Rares, and 35 Commons. Every Ultra, Super, and Rare card has an Ultimate Rare counterpart in the English language release. Highly sought after cards include Prometheus, King of the Shadows, Mist Archfiend, Plague Wolf, Eradicator Epidemic Virus, Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus, Volcanic Doomfire, Rare Value, Raiza the Storm Monarch, and the Sky Scourge monsters.
There are also 9 Secret Rares included in the set, 8 of which are cards from the Curse of Darkness Structure Deck. In addition, a single card was designed specifically for the TCG and distributed as Force of the Breaker's Sneak Preview promotional card, also a Secret Rare.
[edit] Mechanics
Force of the Breaker includes cards used by Johan Andersen and Austin O'Brien in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime series. The Crystal Beasts belonging to the former are able to be placed in a player's Spell/Trap Zone as Continuous Spell Cards after being destroyed, and the Volcanic cards of the latter wield abilities that simultaneously destroy cards and inflict burn damage. In addition, the expansion boasts support for "Legacy" archetypes (in the form of Field Spell tutors), as well as more recent themes including the Aliens and Six Samurai.
[edit] Notable cards
- Volcanic Rocket - The Sneak Preview promotional card which was offered exclusively in the English language release of Force of the Breaker.
- Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus - The "leader" of the lower-leveled Crystal Beasts, this card is capable of salvaging one of its fellow Crystal Beasts from its controller's hand, Deck, or Graveyard, and placing it in the Spell/Trap Zone ahead of time.[1]
- Volcanic Doomfire - The most powerful Volcanic monster, summoned by trading in a face-up Tri-Blaze Accelerator, this card is capable of decimating an opponent's field and inflicting Direct Damage in one blow, and is furthermore an obligatory target for the attacks of an opponent's monsters as long as they remain in attack position.[1]
- Raiza the Storm Monarch - Joining the previous group of four Monarch monsters, this card is able to send a card on the field to the top of its owner's Deck in exchange for calling it forth through a Tribute Summon.[1]
- Sky Scourges - Three cards named Enrise, Norleras, and Invicil. The first two can be Special Summoned only by removing a predetermined number of Light/Fairy and/or Dark/Fiend monsters from the Graveyard, and possess variations on the abilities of the dreaded "Chaos" duo, with the third negating the activation of certain cards based on what type of monster was Tributed to summon it.[1]
- Ancient City - Rainbow Ruins - The Field Spell of the Crystal Beasts. This card stacks effects as the number of Crystal Beasts in its owner's Spell/Trap Zone increases.[1]
