A Force-Fx Lightsaber is a replica of the Lightsaber props used in the Star Wars series of films.
Unlike the cheaper Hasbro and Rubbies products the Force-Fx sabers are not designed as toys but are instead considered collecters items. The hilts are generally made of metal with a fixed polycarbon blade. The current range of blade contains a string of coloured LED's that allow a scrolling effect when turnig the saber on, where the originals used Electro-Luminescent technology. The hilt also houses a speaker that plays back sound samples of the power on/off effect an idle hum and clash sounds.
The range consits of the following sabers some of which have been reproduced with minor changes:
- Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones)
- Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith)
- Darth Vader (Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope)
- Darth Vader (Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back)
- Mace Windu (Attack Of The Clones)
- Mace Windu (Revenge Of The Sith)
- Obi-Wan Kenobi (Revenge Of The Sith)
- Luke Skywalker (A New Hope)
- Luke Skywalker (The Empire Strikes Back)
- Luke Skywalker (Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi)
- Darth Maul Battle Damaged
- Darth Maul Double Pack
- Yoda ROTS (Revenge Of The Sith)
- Force FX Lightsaber Construction Set
Radio Shack also had a Lightsaber Construction Kit that featured a DIY setup. However, it must be mentioned that this product is of a slightly lesser, is 3" to 5" shorter but has 3 blade color settings and is more durable than the full-sized.
