"For You" was a single written by Tim Finn and Phil Judd and recorded by Split Enz in 1973. This was their first release; at this time they were still going by the name Split Ends.[1] This was the only release featuring original members Miles Golding and Mike Howard, on violin and flute respectively.
While initially released only in 7" vinyl form, both sides of the single appeared on an album in 1979, on Split Enz's The Beginning of the Enz retrospective. The B-side, "Split Ends" notably made an appearance within another Split Enz recording, sampled into a 1982 Time and Tide album track, "Haul Away".
