"For Sentimental Reasons" is a song by Abner Silver, Al Sherman and Edward Heyman and was first released on October 18, 1936. It was recorded by Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra featuring a vocal by Jack Leonard. The song has a somewhat complicated history, and was probably written by "Pat" Best. It is certain that the song was very successfully revived in 1946-47, including a Billboard Number One hit by Nat "King" Cole.
