Footsbarn Theatre

Footsbarn is a touring theatre company renowned for its adaptations of classics such as Shakespeare and Moliere.

Footsbarn started life in Cornwall, in the United Kingdom in 1971 rehearsing in a barn owned by the Foot family, hence its name.

"Footsbarn Traveling Theatre" left Britain in 1984 to tour around the world. The company produced more than 60 plays and have travelled to all six continents. In 1991, the troupe bought a farm called "La Chausée" and based their work there. The main stage is a huge white tent called "La Cartoucherie".

Currently, it is a fully equipped production centre with workshops, rehearsal space, offices, studios and educational centres. The company holds workshops and classes there, and intends to start a full-time school for undergraduates as well as intensive classes for professionals.
