Football at the 1989 Island Games

The 1989 Island Games in Faroe Islands was the 1st edition in which a football (soccer) tournament was played. It was only contested by 5 teams and played in a single group stage. The Faroe Islands was the only FIFA associated team that played the competition, after their registry in the entety in 1988.
Faroe Islands won that tournament, and became for the first time Island Games champion.
