[edit] Changes to "Timeline" section
As noted in my recent edit summary, I've just changed the title of the section formerly called "Milestones" to "Timeline." The latter seems to have a less boosterish ring to it, and thus seems more appropriate for an encyclopedia. ("Milestones" sounds more like what one would hear in an alumni magazine or a fundraising pitch.) I've also changed this section to past tense. Finally, I've reinserted a bit of historical detail that was in an older version of this article, about a protest and building occupation by female African-American students in 1970. This seems like the kind of detail that should be added as the article's history section continues to grow; however, it was removed without explanation from the article several times in 2005. It appears from the edits by Fontbonne, and also by another editor whose username is the same as an employee in the Fontbonne Office of Communications and Marketing, that officials of the University are actively editing this article. This practice is frowned on at Wikipedia. As the Wikipedia Conflict of Interest page notes: "Editing in the interests of public relations is particularly frowned upon. This includes, but is not limited to, edits made by public relations departments of corporations; or of other public or private for-profit or not-for-profit organizations." So let me ask that if someone, especially officials of the University, has problems with the addition of this piece of information, that it be discussed here on the Talk Page rather than being summarily reverted.
