To be used in conjunction with {{fn}}
This template is an implementation of the guidelines given at Wikipedia:Footnotes.
[edit] Discussion
Can we switch the style from "'Note 1:" to the more standard "1."? Example:
-
- Foo
- Foo
Instead of
- Note 1: Foo
- Note 2: Foo

- The footnote format is taken from Wikipedia:Footnotes. I suggest proposing your change there. This template just implements the current standard. -- Netoholic @ 02:11, 2005 Jan 18 (UTC)
[edit] Italics
I can't see in the WikiSyntax why the number is italicised: could anyone help? --Oldak Quill 01:17, 23 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Anytime you wrap text in Some text it may appear italicised in some browsers. -- Netoholic @ 05:01, 2005 Feb 23 (UTC)
[edit] What happened?
I had made extensive use of this template at Congressional Delegations from Michigan. At the time, the footnotes were nicely formatted as a list. Now they are a complete mess. What happened? Is there a template that doesn't begin each line with the crappy-looking "Note #"? And shouldn't the guidance above explicitly state that the template should be used with a bulleted list in order to appear properly formatted? older ≠ wiser 13:01, May 30, 2005 (UTC)
