[edit] History

In June 2007 the airline applied to the CAA for its Type A Operating Licence, to allow it to operate both scheduled and charter flights from Cardiff.

[edit] Origin of name

The name comes from an idea by the managing director, who was in a market in Provence, France and overheard someone saying "I got my flight for beans!". [2]

[edit] Future plans

Flyforbeans will operate three Boeing 737-300 aircraft.[3]

It plans to serve destinations in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Eastern Europe; while trying not to duplicate destinations from Cardiff. The airline says it has identified many European destinations, of which more than twelve will be served initially, gradually adding further destinations. the airline is aimed at both leisure and business users.[4] The actual destinations and launch date have yet to be announced.

FlyForbeans have a 'Blog' on their website, which documents their progress up to launch.

The airline have delayed commencing flights/ticket sales again due to their CAA license still awaiting approval and their acquisition of aircraft. Ticket sales, according to their website, were to begin in April with flights beginning in June 2008.
