[edit] New Marlins Ballpark
I think someone should create the article New Marlins Ballpark. Ballparks.com has an article which includes a picture, information you can use for the infobox and proposed locations. To get there go to www.ballparks.com and click on the baseball parks icon. Then click on words "National League" in the upper-left corner. Then click on the words "Miami Ballpark" that come up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tascha96 (talk • contribs) 23:42, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you to who ever created New marlins ballpark, but the letters in the title are lower case. I moved it to New Marlins Ballpark. Tascha96 14:42, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
- It was deleted about two months ago in a WP:AFD debate, redeleted it until it's an official fact that the ballpark is going to be created. Right now it's just rumor 01:45, 7 November 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Secret (talk • contribs)
I found New Miami Ballpark perhaps someone would like to link it to this page or not as there seems to be some dispute if it should be a different page. Smith03 (talk) 04:22, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Uh, recreating deleted material is a good way to get blocked. The re-creator needs to be careful. - BillCJ (talk) 04:44, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
The new stadium is a very topical issue with a good deal of media coverage that can be used as a source for a seperate entry. Many other proposed stadiums also have seperate pages[[1]] so I'm not sure why there is an issue with having a page for the marlins park. -- Cmjc80 (talk) 08:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- THe problem wasn't the existance of the pages, but how they were done - lack of sources, crystal balling, and so on. Then there was the deliberate skirting of the AFD process by re-creating the article at new names. - BillCJ (talk) 18:27, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Just for grins, this is the AfD discussion on the New Marlins Ballpark article.--Fabrictramp (talk) 18:29, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] New Marlins Ballpark 2
New marlins stadium has been created. I again feel this is premature. However, I do think the entire "Stadium/relocation issues" section (which is what this new page basically repeats) should be split off to its own page. Once the stadium deal is completed, and info begins to come forth, wthen a new stadium page can be created, one that will survive the AFD-page recreation problem. - BillCJ (talk) 18:34, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed title: Marlins stadium and relocation issues. I'm not happy with that one, but it's the best I can think off. Alternatives are welcome! - BillCJ (talk) 18:34, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Someone just recreated half a dozen articles with almost-identical text: I've redirected them all to New Miami stadium.--uɐɔlnʌɟoʞǝɹɐs 19:54, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
And we should all redirect them to this page again, until it becomes official Secret account 20:50, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
- That's a losing battle at this point (redirecting them here). THe pages will just be receated again everytime there's new stadium news, which is probably going to be every day for a few weeks. Realizing that, I think leaving the article where it is is the best bet for now. If the deal collapes soon - a real possibility - then I'll support moving the page to Marlins stadium and relocation issues or the like. I'll try to put a strongly-worded hidden note at the top of the New Miami stadium page to discourage the instant-AFD crowd, and encourage them to read and discuss on the talk page first, which I'll set up soon. - BillCJ (talk) 23:18, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion of Fan Site Links
Why is Teal and Black continually deleted as a link at the bottom of the page? It is a fansite like the other links (MarlinsBaseball and MarlinsNation).
Moneyball (talk) 03:24, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Moneyball
- Sometime editors delete links to newer fansites because they are against there being more than 1 or 2 fansites on any given page. Priority is usually given to those with a higher Alexa ranking. I personally don't see a problem with it. I deleted the "Florida Marlins Wiki" to make it a less bit cluttered, since it's just part of Fish@Bat. I also alphabetized the list to make it as impartial as possible. --Rabbethan 10:37, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speculation of future colors
With all of the new advertisements and giveaways being orange, I am under the impression that the new Miami Marlins color will be orange come 2011. Anybody can confirm? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.191.19.156 (talk) 02:02, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
