[edit] Birth date

Most of the cited references list his birth date as 1931. An edit by an anonymous IP user on January 1, 2008 claiming to be his step-daughter says it should be 1918; no verifiable source reference was provided, which is required by Wikipolicy. One of the references lists a 1921 birth date. Considering the history described, 1918 or 1921 makes more sense than 1931. It is also possible that 1931 listed in the references is a single-digit typo in a primary source that got copied into secondary sources, and that a 1921 birthdate could easily be changed to 1918 in family lore. I am therefore changing the birth date in all places in the article to 1921, which has at least one verifiable source. If anyone can provide a primary source that definitively establishes the birth date, please feel free to update the article. Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 02:00, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I am Florian's step-daughter and his birth date is 1918! Check the Social Security death index if you want official verification of his real birth date. His arrangements and compositions are in the Florian ZaBach Collection in the Library of Congress. They were sent to the Library of Congress in August of 2005. Check with the music librarian at the LOC for verification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.55.15.157 (talk) 04:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't have full access to ancestry.com but they show his name in the U.S. World War II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946. Someone with full access, perhaps at a library, will be able to see this which should also have the date of birth but it would seem to show that 1931 is extremely unlikely. --jmb (talk) 16:07, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
I checked the Social Security Death Index Interactive Search at [1] which shows 1918 as the birth year. Per MOS and some assistance from Wikihelp, I have modified the article to list a circa birth date with a descriptive footnote. Since there are obvious errors somewhere in the cited references, does anyone know how to let those sources know about the error? Truthanado (talk) 16:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
