[edit] Florence Y'All
I had been under the belief that the reason the name was changed to Florence Y'all was because it was illegal to advertise commercial venture (Florence Mall) on a government facility (public water tower), and changing the M to a Y was the most inexpensive and neutral change possible. --BakerQ 15:17, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- That's what I'd always heard, too, but when I did a little research to write the section, none of them described it that way. See http://www.americanprofile.com/issues/20060122/20060122_5001.asp for instance. (I wanted to cite a reference on the page, but I couldn't find one that was comprehensive, well-written, and that talked only about the Florence water tower.) Bigpeteb 18:29, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
