Talk:Floating island

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Use of "as yet"

I find this ridiculous:

A "floating island" in fiction (sometimes called a "flying island"), is a (as yet) fictitious landmass that flies above the surface of the earth (or in some cases throught the depths of space), defying gravity because they really float in air.

As yet? AS YET?? Talk about a non-committal author. Andyqaz October 24, 2005

Shouldnt we merge this with Floating Cities?

I don't think so. And only partly because it I don't find such an article. Vincecate 10:50, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

There should be some link to Pumice Rafts (Floating lava/sand on the oceans). Fxprojectsmusiclab 27 July 2007

[edit] Ancient myths

Should we incorporate things like this here, or make new articles? --Magnus Manske 17:29, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

I rather keep mythical stuff in other articles. Vincecate 01:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] D-Day islands

The artificial-islands used in the D-Day landings are worth a mention.
