View of the w:Florida Avenue Bridge over the Industrial Canal, New Orleans, from the Lower 9th Ward side.

Photo shows the bridge in the up position; allowing ship traffic and not land traffic. Bridge has not been open to land traffic since Hurricane Katrina.

Across the canal under the bridge Sewerage & Water Board Pumping Station #19 can be seen. Part of the drainage system of New Orleans goes under the Industrial Canal with a giant syphon, continuing the old route of the Florida Canal from before the Industrial Canal was built.
