Floxed

Floxed is the a word used to describe the sandwiching of a DNA sequence between two lox P sites. It is a contraction of the phrase "flanked by LoxP". This is used for Cre-Lox recombination for example, when investigating the role of Beta-catenin in hair follicles and epidermal stem cell (Huelsken et al., 2001).
