Florissant has several subdivisions, including Colorado Mountain Estates, Florissant Heights, Indian Creek, Wilson Lakes, and Valley Hi.

Florissant continues to grow to meet the needs of its diverse population. Examples of this include the addition of a new library offering multimedia opportunities, fast broadband, computer access; as well as, wireless access has brought residents closer to friends, relatives, and online education. As with most communities which are neither incorporated nor census-designated places, determination of a reasonable population count for Florissant is problematic as there is no objective standard determining exactly how much area around the business district should be included in the community.
