Florida State Road 844

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

State Road 844, locally known as the Northeast 14 Street Causeway is a 0.9 mile-long east-west street crossing the Intracoastal Waterway and connecting (U.S. Route 1-State Road 5) and (State Road A1A) in Pompano Beach, Florida. One of the shortest highways numbered by the Florida Department of Transportation, State Road 844 passes through a suburban residential area east of Pompano Beach Airpark, Pompano Beach Municipal Golf Course, and Pompano Citi Centre.

State Road 844 is one of only two east-west Florida State Roads in the South Florida Metropolitan Area that do not intersect, pass over, or pass under an expressway. The other is State Road 9336, which provides a primary access into Everglades National Park in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
