Florida State Road 800

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

State Road 800, locally known as Spanish River Boulevard/NW 40th St., is a short east-west street in Boca Raton, Florida. Its western terminus is an intersection with Military Trail (SR 809); the eastern terminus is an intersection with North Ocean Boulevard (SR A1A) near the Atlantic Ocean shoreline at the northeastern corner of Spanish River Park.

East of an Interstate 95 overpass (there is no direct connection between SR 800 and I-95) are a spur from SR 800 serving Boca Raton Airport and an entrance to the campuses of Palm Beach Community College-Boca Raton Campus and Florida Atlantic University. East of the college campuses, SR 800 goes through a residential section of Boca Raton before intersecting U.S. Route 1 (SR 5) and crossing the Intracoastal Waterway with a high-level causeway before reaching its eastern terminus.

Although this street retains its state road designation; Dolph's Street Atlas 2005 still shows the street as a State Road, nowhere along its entirety is the road signed as such, nor is it signed as a county road.
