Florida State Road 714

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Currently extending from Florida State Road 710 to downtown Stuart, State Road 714 is an 11-mile-long east-west highway serving northern Martin County, Florida. The eastern terminus of SR 714 is an intersection with Southeast Ocean Boulevard (SR A1A and CR A1A) in Stuart. The route is known locally as Martin Highway, Martin Downs Boulevard, and Southeast Monterey Road. While an interchange with I-95 is the current western terminus of SR 714, the historic terminus is an interchange with Florida's Turnpike (SR 93), five miles to the east. To the east of the Turnpike interchange, SW Martin Hwy is designated as Martin County Road 714.

West of State Road 76, SR 714 was primarily a rural road passing near Palm City before entering the wetlands between Lake Okeechobee and the coast; east of SR 76, State Road 714 is primarily a commercial road, passing near Witham Field, an airport near the eastern end of the route and just outside the Stuart city limit.
