State Road 681 is a four-mile-long spur of Interstate 75 (SR 93) near Nokomis, Florida. The road was formerly the southern terminus of the expressway in the early 1980s. Interstate 75 can only be entered going northbound and exited on to SR 681 southbound. There are no buildings, services, or intersections on SR 681. Its only purpose at the moment is to exit I-75 to (and enter I-75 from) the Tamiami Trail (US 41/SR 45).
[edit] Intersection additions
There have been plans to place three road-level intersections and traffic lights added to State Road 681 sometime after 2006, which would be the first intersections and development on the road.
