East Lake Road is the northern-most section of Pinellas County Road 611. It runs from Tampa Road to the Pinellas/Pasco county line. The name, East Lake Road, probably comes from the fact that the highway runs just east of Lake Tarpon.
- The highway is mostly four to six lanes with a landscaped median. The highway runs past several golf courses and subdivisions and originally went through a shopping center at its southern terminus at Tampa Road/McMullen Booth Road.
- The southern terminus of East Lake Road was shifted in the 1980s/1990s after a limited access interchange was constructed at Tampa Road. The older segment of East Lake Road, which runs through the East Lake Woodlands Plaza, is today known on the maps as East Lake Business.
- John Chestnut Sr. Park can be accessed by using East Lake Road.
