Florida State Road 114 has the given name of 8th Street throughout its entire route of just 21 blocks , in Downtown Jacksonville. It is a four-lane highway for much of its route. It starts at Haines Expressway on 8th Street heading west. Passing a number of streets, just some side streets heading south into Downtown or into north Springfield.
Before intersecting with N.Main St U.S. Highway 17 and Florida State Road 5, then continuing past Shands Hospital, on the right of the road, then heading on west to intersect with Interstate 95/Florida State Road 9. Thent State Road 114's short trip comes to an end at the intersection of Myrtle Street and 8th Street. 8th Street continues for six more blocks as a side road before itself ending.
