Florence, Nova Scotia

Florence (2001 pop.: 1,684) is a community in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.
The community is located north of Highway 105 and west of Sydney Mines.
Florence has had problems with minor crime such as arson and assaults in the past few years. However as of late, those problems have been on the decline somewhat.
The community is also home to a large senior citizen population, and as such, is experiencing a lack of a younger working age population.
The "Lick-A-Chick" (a chicken restaurant) is located in Florence.
