Flockton

Flockton is a village in West Yorkshire, England halfway between Huddersfield and Wakefield with a population of 1,176 according to the 2001 census.
It is 7 miles (11 km) east from Huddersfield and 7.5 miles (12 km) west of Wakefield. The village extends along the A637 Barnsley Road. Flockton is close to a small village called Grange Moor. The village was known for its "abundance of coal" but the coal mines in the area are no longer open. Flockton has a sporting pedigree with cricket and football teams in the Huddersfield local leagues.
