Talk:Flinders University Hall
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hey, made a few changes to bring the Uni Hall wikipage to a similar level to those in SAAUCC. Most notably added right hand info box, logo and other things. This is far from complete, and anyone else who would like to correct me on any errors or help add something. Feel free. Cheers, DaveyChapman, 13:01, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
I lost my virginity at Uni Hall, but I guess no one cares about that.
- Nah mate, add it! It's notable enough considering this is Flinders we're talking about. --121.45.154.6 16:08, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Can't say im surprised that a St Marks collegian is forever monitoring this page and making deletions.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by DaveyChapman (talk • contribs) 00:08, 12 June 2007.
[edit] "Monitoring"
I'd hardly call it monitoring. I'm making an attempt to keep the other SAAUCC College pages from going through the AfD process like the Mark's page currently is. I don't want to see any of these pages deleted as I, as well as others, think they do actually contribute to wikipedia in a positive manner. If you have a "problem" with my editing, feel free to comment on my talk page. Or, perhaps make some contributions yourself. After all, that's the whole purpose of wikipedia, independant users editing and improving on the pages created by users closely associated with the original articles. Those closely related to an article provide the solid core of the information, and the independant users "clean it up" and make it encyclopedic. Cheers, ABVS1936 16:43, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- ...As if "monitoring" is a bad thing. You may be aware that the St Mark's College page was recently nominated for deletion (the result was keep). As a result of the nomination, many references were added and a significant amount of "cruft" removed in order to ensure the page complied with Wikipedia's guidelines (WP:VERIFY and WP:NOTE specifically). The other SAAUCC pages could do with much of the same sort of cleaning up if they are to avoid problems like this too, as they are presently less referenced and more crufty than the St Mark's page was prior to the AfD. Happy to help if someone at the college can point me in the direction of sources.--Yeti Hunter 04:33, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
You Could move some of the Stuff about the hall to the Flinders Uni wiki @ wiki.flindersstudents.com60.242.211.52
[edit] Page needs cleanup
The Flinders page needs a serious cleanup. It's full of cruft, unreferenced material, irrelevant materiel, and does not assert its notability (though I am not challenging this). I contend that the following do not contribute to the article, and should be removed:
- Much of the history section, specifically the bits about the University, not the Hall, which is largely duplicated at Flinders University
- The team song (unreferenced, unnecessary)
- The house committee list. They are all non-notable individuals, and it adds nothing to the article. Also unreferenced.
Let me know if you think my reasoning is flawed.--Yeti Hunter 02:34, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
