Talk:Flinders Island
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
As per Talk:Flinders Island (disambiguation), I have moved the Tasmanian Flinders Island to the Flinders Island name. -- Chuq 07:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Farming & Aboriginal settlement
Farming and fishing are the most signficant activities on the island, more information on both would be good to have.
The aboriginal settlement and chapel at Wybalenna has great cultural and historic significance link --Peter Campbell 05:48, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Climbing link
This link was just removed from the article with and edit stating it was linkspam:
Killiecrankie climbing Images and guides to rock climbing on granite sea cliffs near Mt Killiecrankie in the North of Flinders Island.
I have looked at it and don't think it is. I have climbed on Flinders Island and think this is valuable non-commercial information. Steve Craddock was one of the pioneers of climbing on the island. I think the link should remain. Other opinions? --Peter Campbell 11:55, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- The link to the site, hosted at http://www.stevecraddock.id.au, was added by a user named User:Pscraddock. User:Pscraddock has only made seven edits, four of which were adding links to this site. I think it was clearly added for self-promotion. Links don't necessarily need to be commercial to be deemed as link spam. It might be useful information, but it's not generally relevant to an article about Flinders Island as a whole. -- Chuq 12:16, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fauna
Does anyone know if there are any kangaroos, dingos or tasmanian devils on the island? TeePee-20.7 (talk) 12:23, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
