Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Conveyor-for-automotive-industry.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:58, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the message

Hey there. Yes, I deleted the page for FlexLink. There are a few things that I hope you will read and understand before attempting to repost information about FlexLink. First, you should read and understand our guideline on conflict of interest. You are not prohibited from writing about your own company, but generally speaking, whether you feel that you wrote in an "advertising style" or not is irrelevant. You are attached to the company (I assume by your post and by your username) and therefore may not be writing objectively. Please read the following:
1. Our advertising guideline
2. Some things Wikipedia is not, including a democracy.
3. How to write a great article
4. How to find reliable sources (not press releases or self published items) that verify the notability of FlexLink.

After reading these, if you have sources that tell the world about FlexLink, in an objective, fact-checked way that indicate it's notability, see my talkpage, I'll help you write it.

I'm sorry your disappointed about the deletion. Three things:

1. An editor "nominated the article for deletion" which opens a 5 day discussion. A different editor, instead decided that it qualified as a speedy deletion, under our criteria for speedy deletion, specifically as a "G11", which is general criteria 11 regarding blatant advertising. I agreed with the second nominator that it was blatant advertisinig? Why? It did not have sources outside of links to your company, and it was written by your company about itself.
2. The fact that it has been here a year (actually 18 months - started in Sept 2006). That is irrelevant in many ways to deletions. There are over 2 million articles and only about 1000 active administrators. Some things slip through the cracks, but when they are found, they are dealt with in the same manner of fairness and using the same guidleines as a new contribution. Time isn't a factor in deletion.
3. In the next few minutes I will have restored the article to your userspace instead of the mainspace. You can now continue to work on the article to get it, if possible, "up to snuff". You need third party, reliable, fact-checked sources that independently verify that your company is notable in it's field. These cannot be press releases or self-published. Basically, you need to find sources, if they exist, that tell about your company (good and bad) in a neutral, uncompensated way. Let me know if you need any further assistance. You can find the article in your "sandbox" by clicking User:FlexLink/Sandbox. Cheers, Keeper | 76 | Disclaimer 14:25, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because of concerns that the chosen username may not meet our username policy.
This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.

Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, confusing, or misleading.

If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username. Keep in mind, though, that creating a new account is much faster and easier.
Last, the automated software systems that prevent vandalism may have been activated, which can cause new account creation to be blocked also. If you have not acted in a deliberately inappropriate manner, please let us know if this happens, and we will deactivate the block as soon as possible. You may also appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you. TravellingCarithe Busy Bee 03:34, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
