Flesherton, Ontario

Flesherton (population 600) is a community in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, in Grey County, Ontario, Canada.
The village was founded in 1853 on the banks of the Boyne River by William Kingston Flesher. Originally named Artemesia, the community was renamed Flesher's Corners after Flesher built a saw and grist mill on the Boyne. In 1867, the name was changed to Flesherton and incorporation as a village followed in 1912. The municipality was amalgamated with the Township of Artmesia in 1998 and Artemesia itself amalgamated to form Grey Highlands in 2001.
Flesherton is home to Grey Highlands Secondary School, the main high school for the area. The village has also proclaimed itself "Gateway to the Beaver Valley" and is home to the annual Split Rail Festival.
For over 50 years, the Flesherton and District Chamber of Commerce, which grew out of the Flesherton Service Club, has been the recognized voice of the businesses in the community of Flesherton and the surrounding villages of Priceville, Ceylon, Eugenia, Kimberley, Maxwell, Rock Mills and Feversham.
