Fleam is Rol Cortishane’s sword. It is shaped like a scimitar with a sharp, slightly curved blade. It does not require sharpening and does not tarnish. Fleam glows with a pale light and is a very pale greenish tinge. It is an arm-span in length.
Fleam also thirsts for blood, whispers in Rol’s mind and contains a violent spirit, linked in some way to Amelie, Rol’s mother. It can aid Rol’s actions in battle and move his arm on its own accord in protection of his life. When he transfigures into Angel form, it shines brightly. It is very sharp and made of superior metal to normal weapons.
Fleam was given to Rol by Michael Psellos, and he named it after the device used to extract Weren blood, when he killed a man with it in defence of another. Rowen once owned it, but it hated her and she could not use it effectively.
