[edit] UKW Relevence

Has this sort of boat ever been used on UK waterways? If not, I'll remove the UKW template. Hmallett 13:20, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

I vaguely remember reading in the 1970s BWB were using chains of boats a bit like this, with a tug (pushing), to transport coal in the North East, to power stations; possibly Goole, if so then its the River Ouse and one of the broad canals / navigations. That is all I can recall at present.Pyrotec 14:12, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
I half recall Ferrybridge power station or Fiddlers Ferry power station - of the two Ferrybridge Power Station station B appears to be most likely.Pyrotec 14:33, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Pyrotec, are you thinking of Tom Puddings? If so, that is not what this article is about. It looks to me like a very specific N.American vessel, the most distinct feature being that it was a one way trip for the raft which was dismantled at its downstream destination. I vote for deletion of the UK template. --Derek Andrews 18:48, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Derek Andrews, that is what I was trying to remember. With this new info, I vote deletion of UK template.Pyrotec 19:46, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
It is indeed specifically N.American, so {{UKW}} deleted. Mayalld 07:20, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
