Flaxley Abbey

Flaxley Abbey, in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, was founded in 1148 by Earl of Hereford as a Cistercian monastery . It was disoluted 1536 - 7 and its lands and manor were granted to Sir William Kingston. The abbey is now a private residence and has never been a hotel
