"Flake" was a minor success for Johnson in the United States, being his first entry on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, at #73. It was a major success in New Zealand, reaching the top ten where it peaked at #6.
"Flake" is still Jack Johnson's sole top 10 hit and his most major single in New Zealand.
