FK Teplice is a Czech football club based in the city of Teplice (80 km north of Prague).
The club was founded after the World War II in 1945. The club advanced to the 1st Czechoslovak division in just 3 years after being founded and played mostly in the 1st and 2nd Czechoslovak division and after split of Czechoslovakia in the 1st and 2nd Czech division. After the Velvet Revolution and comeback of rich sponsor, Glaverbel (formerly Sklo Union), the club returned to the 1st division in 1996 and had a big success winning the Czech Football Cup and beating Feyenoord Rotterdam, 1. FC Kaiserslauternbut were eventually defeated by Glasgow Celtic in the UEFA Cup.

The clubs best recent position was 2nd in the 1998/99 season. In the 2004/05 season the team ended 3rd, with the same number of points as 2nd Slavia Prague. The 3rd place allowed them to play the 3rd round of the UEFA Cup qualification, which Teplice won against FC MTZ-RIPO Minsk from Belarus. In the 1st round of the UEFA Cup Teplice faced RCD Espanyol from Spain. They got eliminated after playing 1:1 in the first leg and 0:2 in the second leg. FK Teplice is considered to be one of the best Czech football clubs, in the 2005/06 season the team ended on the 4th place of the Czech Premier league - the Gambrinus Liga.

FK Teplice is currently in third place in the 07/08 Gambrinus Liga after Slavia Prague and Sparta Prague and will spend the winter break on that position[1]. Teplice did not play any European competitions this year and have already been eliminated from the home cup.
