Fjerritslev

Fjerritslev is a town in Jammerbugt municipality, Region Nordjylland in Denmark.
Until January 1, 2007, Fjerritslev was also a municipality (Danish, kommune) in North Jutland County . The municipality covered an area of 290 km², and had a total population of 8,480 (2005). Its last mayor was Otto Kjær Larsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.
Fjerritslev municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Brovst, Pandrup, and Aabybro municipalities to form the new Jammerbugt municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 863 km² and a total population of 38,864 (2005).
