From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NPOV is the crux of much confusion. Essentially the point of view of NPOV is that there is no point of view of the article. In other words the articles are written as news stories, not as editorials. Circumvention of this policy is accomplished by reporting opinions but that reporting held to a high standard of confidence.
Thus we have Wiki-Talkers (WT) and Wiki-Walkers (WW) It is a violation of NPOV to introduce "wikitalk" into an article. The editor is to consider himself a wikiwalker. A worker.

[edit] Single Purpose Accounts
Single purpose accounts are not forbidden, but are to be treated with caution (see WP:SPA). Michaelbusch 17:43, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism?
- You replace a public domain official systems graphic with your original research picture which does not at all describe a web of relationships, I revert it, you revert it back. I tag it asking for a source, you remove the tag. I believe that is considered vandalism. Either give me the source of your contention, replace the tag, or tell me how to report vandalism
Fixaller 00:15, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Read Wikipedia:Logo, check the deletion log (Eagle 11 removed the logo per blatant copyright infringement [1]), and actually read the point the picture is there to make ('perceived as a whole or a group of parts', not 'web of relationships', which the logo didn't convey either). Read also the definition of Wikipedia:Vandalism and the proper use of citation-needed tags (see WP:CITE) and perhaps Wikipedia:No personal attacks. Michaelbusch 19:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent talk page posts
You seem to be posting with the deliberate intention of antagonizing people. Please cease. Such flaming serves no useful purpose, and will not be effective. Michaelbusch 02:56, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Also, your edits show a serious bias with regards to Systems theory. Please read and understand WP:COI. You are not forbidden from editing articles where you have a conflict of interest, but any conflicts you have should be made explicit. Michaelbusch 18:18, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- Again, read and understand WP:COI and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. This is not a soapbox, and your recent talk page posts give the impression that you think it is. Please stop now. Michaelbusch 02:21, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] declaration of intent
My intent is to gather together acknowledged experts in the field of Systems Theory with the goal of editing the Systems Theory article such that it reflects the state of the knowledge. The institutions which I draw on include ISSS International Society for the Systems Sciences; ISI, International Systems Institute, IFSR, International Federation for System Research as well as others that may not be affiliated with any of the above but demonstrate the competance required of any expert. Our sources include the International Encyclopedia of Systems and Cybernetics, the Primer Project at ISSS.org, and selected papers, journals and books. So far, after fifty years, Systems Theory has not become a controversial subject. The field does, however, have its own unique way of looking at things, and cannot be equated with classical object orientated science. Systems Theory does not in any way invalidate classical science, rather science is included as one aspect of a transdisciplinary field of inquiry. A very simple but effective way of summarizing the role of Systems Theory is that while classical science deals in nouns (objects), Systems THoery deals with verbs (What objects are doing). This necessarily means new ways of interacting with reality.
"There appear to exist general system laws which apply to any system of a particular type, irrespective of the particular properties of the systems and the elements involved. Compared to the analytical procedure of classical science with resolution into component elements and one-way or linear causality as basic category, the investigation of organized wholes of many variables requires new categories of interaction, transaction, organization, teleology..." [edit] changing user name
I have decided that it serves no useful purpose not to use my real name. Already I am having difficulties as if I were two different editors. Therefore, my real name is Tom Mandel which I will be using from now on. Fixaller 20:47, 8 April 2007 (UTC) M
[edit] Suspected sock puppet
I suspect that this account is a sockpuppet of User:Tommysun. See contributions for evidence. In particular: User:Tommysun made many edits to Systems theory just before User:Fixaller began editing, and then made no further edits to the article. I also seem to recall User:Tommysun signing some of his posts 'Thomas Mandel', but I haven't yet dug for those. Michaelbusch 21:26, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- See the ArbCom enforcement noticeboard Michaelbusch 16:21, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
- Addendum: User:Tommysun signed postings at the ArbCom decision proceedings, and was referred to as, 'Tommy Mandel'. Michaelbusch 19:19, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
There's not much point in tagging the account a sock since the Tommysun account is dormant. However, it is also my recollection that you are the person who formerly used the Tommysun account. In that case I must remind you that the Arbitration committee banned you from articles related to science and pseudoscience topics. I must ask you not to edit Systems theory or other science topics again. Thank you. Thatcher131 01:26, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
